Quotes in half the time, and Gemini's watermark goes optional
Archive · Issue of 21 August 2026

Hi,
Most of us lose more time writing quotes than working out the price. This week’s guide fixes that. First, three things from the week that touch tools you probably already pay for.
📰 The big three
1. Gemini’s visible AI watermark is now optional On 14 August Google let Gemini users switch off the sparkle mark on AI images, video and music. A hidden SynthID watermark stays in every file. So what for your business? Cleaner marketing images. But AI pictures of identifiable people still need a clear label under Swiss and EU rules. Read more
2. Google adds “Ask Gemini” to Google Chat, English accounts only Announced 19 August: one place in Chat to search files and messages, summarise threads and draft replies. It replaces the old Gemini side panel, and chat history doesn’t carry over. So what for your business? Mixed-language teams will see two versions for a while. Staff on English accounts should save important side-panel chats first. Read more
3. ChatGPT’s “Computer History” reaches Switzerland From 20 August, the Mac feature that records clicks, typing and app switches to help you resume work is available here for ChatGPT Business, on the Mac. So what for your business? It’s off unless an admin allows it. Decide before anyone asks, and keep it voluntary. Read more

Gemini in Google Workspace. Our verdict: worth using if your team already works in Gmail and Google Docs on Business Standard or higher, because you’re already paying for it. Not a reason to move from Microsoft 365. Read the review
🔍 Feature deep dive 🔒 Members
Gemini Canvas. It puts your draft proposal in an editing pane next to the Gemini chat. Fix a line yourself, ask Gemini to rework one paragraph, then export to Google Docs. Included in every Workspace Business plan. Read the deep dive

📊 One number
49%: the share of Swiss workers who said they use AI tools every day, against a European average of 28%, in Accenture’s Pulse of Change survey (200 people interviewed in Switzerland, April to June 2026) (swissinfo.ch). Your staff are probably already using it. The question is whether they’re on a business account.
