What AI says about your business, cheaper models and ChatGPT's privacy page

Archive · Issue of 25 September 2026

Grüezi, bonjour, buongiorno.

The last September issue closes our month on customers with one question: what does AI tell people about your business? A Swiss study this week shows most firms have never checked. Here’s how.

The big three

1. 58% of Swiss SMEs have never checked what AI says about them A survey of 504 marketing decision-makers in Swiss SMEs by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and localsearch, published 24 September, found that most have never looked. Only 2% take targeted steps to improve how they appear. So what for your business? Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google about your own business today. Ten minutes tells you if you have a problem. 2. OpenAI and Anthropic release cheaper models on the same day On 22 September Anthropic launched Claude Opus 5.5, saying typical jobs cost about 40% less. OpenAI launched GPT-6 Sol and Luna at about half the price of the models they replace. So what for your business? On a flat subscription, nothing to do. If a supplier bills you for AI usage, ask whether your price will drop. Read more

3. ChatGPT puts its privacy settings in one place From 21 September OpenAI rolled out a Privacy Center for ChatGPT Business users, with Free, Plus and other plans also eligible. It explains memory, model training and data deletion settings on one page, but changes nothing by itself. So what for your business? Ask staff on personal accounts to check “Improve the model for everyone” this week. Read more

One number

2%: the share of Swiss SMEs that take targeted measures to improve how they appear in AI search, according to HSLU’s KMU Digital Pulse 2026 (HSLU IKM, 24 September 2026). A small group to join, and an easy one to stand out in.

That’s it for September. Hit reply and tell me: what did ChatGPT get wrong about your business? The strangest answer gets a mention (anonymously) in a future issue.
