HelpFreeSkills for Claude and ChatGPT

How to install a BizzyAI skill

Every issue ships two ready-made skills. This page shows how to install one in about five minutes. No technical skills needed.

What a skill is: a short set of written instructions that teaches your AI how your business does one job, such as writing an SOP. You install it once, and the AI follows it whenever that job comes up.

Each download is a zip file holding one folder with one file inside, called SKILL.md. Claude and ChatGPT both read this format: it is an open standard that Anthropic developed and published (Agent Skills).

Steps checked against Anthropic and OpenAI help pages on 6 October 2026. Menus change often. If what you see doesn’t match, tell us and we’ll update this page.

Which route is for you?

You use Route
Claude (any plan, including Free) A. Install in Claude
ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu B. Install in ChatGPT
ChatGPT Free, Go, Plus or Pro, or Gemini, Copilot or Le Chat C. Paste into a Project

A. Install in Claude

Plans: Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise (Claude Help).

  1. Turn on code execution (one time only). Skills need it.
    • Free, Pro or Max: open Settings, then Capabilities, and make sure Code execution and file creation is on.
    • Team: skills are on by default for the organisation. If you can’t see them, ask an owner to check the next point.
    • Team or Enterprise owner: open Organization settings > Plugins & skills, click the Policy tab, and make sure Cloud code execution and file creation and Skills are both on.
  2. Download the zip from the issue’s Skills page. Don’t unzip it.
  3. In Claude, go to Customize, then Skills.
  4. Click the + button, then + Create skill.
  5. Choose Upload a skill and select the zip file.
  6. The skill appears in your skills list. Check that the switch next to it is on.

Use it: start a new chat and ask for the job in your own words, for example “Write an SOP for opening the shop”. Claude picks the skill when your request matches its description. If it doesn’t, name it: “Use the SOP writer skill to…”

Share it with your team (Team and Enterprise only): in Customize > Skills, click the three dots (…) next to the skill, then Share, and pick colleagues. It shows greyed out in their list until they switch it on. They can use it but not edit it. To give it to the whole organisation, open the skill and click Publish to org. The Share button only appears once an owner has turned on sharing under Organization settings > Plugins & skills, on the Policy tab. On Free, Pro and Max, each person uploads the skill to their own account.

If the upload fails: Anthropic lists the usual causes as a zip that’s too large, a folder name that doesn’t match the skill name, a missing SKILL.md, or invalid characters in the skill’s name or description. Our zips are built to pass these checks, so download the file again and upload it without renaming or unzipping it.

B. Install in ChatGPT

Plans: ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, Healthcare and Edu, “subject to workspace settings” (OpenAI Help). OpenAI’s help page does not list Free, Go, Plus or Pro. If you’re on one of those, use route C.

OpenAI is retiring custom GPTs and moving to plugins and skills. OpenAI plans to stop the creation of new custom GPTs on 26 October 2026 and to retire custom GPTs on 11 December 2026 (OpenAI FAQ). So don’t build a custom GPT around our skills.

  1. Download the zip from the issue’s Skills page.
  2. In ChatGPT, click Plugins in the sidebar.
  3. In the Plugin Directory, open the Skills tab.
  4. Click Create, then Upload from your computer, and select the file.
  5. The skill appears on your Skills tab.

OpenAI’s help page doesn’t say which file types the upload accepts. If the zip is refused, use this instead: Create, then Create with editor, and paste the full contents of SKILL.md (open it in Notepad or TextEdit).

If you don’t see Plugins or Skills, your workspace admin may have switched skills off. Admins on Enterprise and Edu control who can use, upload and share skills under Permissions & roles.

Use it: ask for the job in a normal chat. OpenAI says ChatGPT “can automatically use one or more skills when they are helpful”. If it doesn’t pick it up, name the skill in your request.

Share it: on the Skills tab, click the three dots next to the skill, then Share, and choose people or groups, or copy a link.

C. Paste into a Project (any AI)

This works with every AI assistant that lets you save instructions, and on every plan. It takes three minutes.

  1. Unzip the download and open SKILL.md in Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac).
  2. Copy everything below the second line of three dashes (---). The lines above it are labels for Claude and ChatGPT, not instructions.
  3. Paste it as standing instructions:
    • ChatGPT (all plans, including Free): click New project in the sidebar and name it after the skill. Open the … menu, choose Project settings and paste into the instructions (OpenAI Help).
    • Claude (all plans, Free allows up to five projects): go to Projects, click + New Project, then Set project instructions. Paste and click Save instructions (Claude Help).
    • Gemini, Copilot, Le Chat or anything else: paste the text at the start of a new chat, then ask for the job in your next message.
  4. Run the job inside that project from now on.

A Project works like a skill you have to open yourself: the AI follows the instructions in every chat in that project, but won’t use them anywhere else.

Updating a skill

When we ship a new version, the issue’s Skills page says what changed.

  • Claude: go to Customize > Skills, switch the skill off, click … next to it, then Delete, and confirm. Upload the new zip. If you shared the skill, share it again. (Anthropic’s help pages don’t describe a replace-file option, so delete and re-upload.)
  • ChatGPT: on the Skills tab, open the … menu next to the old skill, choose Delete skill, then upload the new one.
  • Project route: open the project instructions, delete the old text and paste the new.

Keep only one version installed. Two similar skills confuse the AI about which to use.

Privacy, in two lines

A skill is plain text instructions: no code, no tracking and nothing sent to us. What the AI can see and keep is governed by your own plan’s data settings. Business plans (Claude Team and Enterprise, ChatGPT Business and Enterprise) don’t train on your content by default. On Claude Free, Pro and Max, check Settings > Privacy (Anthropic Privacy Center).

Anthropic’s advice applies to every skill, ours included: only install skills from sources you trust, and read the file first (Claude Help). Ours are short enough to read in two minutes.
