AI meeting notes without legal trouble, ChatGPT meets SharePoint, Mistral's EUR 3 billion
Archive · Issue of 11 September 2026

Grüezi, bonjour, buongiorno.
AI note-takers save real time, and they are also the quickest way to break Swiss law by accident. Recording a private conversation without everyone’s consent is a criminal offence here, even if you are in the meeting yourself. The fix takes 20 seconds per meeting: ask, wait for a yes, then press the button.
This week: how to set that up properly, which note-taker to pick, and three news items from a busy week.
The big three
1. ChatGPT can now read SharePoint, Box and Dropbox files On 10 September OpenAI added Box, Dropbox and SharePoint to ChatGPT’s Library, next to Google Drive. A day earlier it added file and folder sharing with Viewer and Editor rights. So what for your business? Less downloading and re-uploading. Also more access: connect one non-personal folder first, and keep HR and client files out. Read more
2. Mistral raises EUR 3 billion On 8 September the French AI company announced Europe’s largest tech equity round ever, at a valuation above EUR 21 billion. It sells “sovereign” AI that keeps data under European control. So what for your business? A European alternative to US AI vendors is here to stay. If data location matters, add Mistral to your shortlist and ask where data is hosted. Read more
3. Apple’s new Siri: English first, not initially in the EU Apple announced Siri AI on 9 September, rolling out in beta from 14 September in English, with French and others in October. German and Italian had no date. So what for your business? Nothing to buy. Decide now whether Siri may read work email on staff iPhones. Read more

One number
0: the number of Swiss German variants in Microsoft Teams’ list of 41 live transcription languages. German (Germany) is there; Swiss German is not (Microsoft Support). If your meetings run in dialect, plan for corrections or agree to speak Standard German when the transcript is on. The other tools we reviewed don’t list Swiss German either; our template includes a prompt to clean up the result.
That’s all for this week. Hit reply and tell me: do you already record meetings, and does anyone ask for consent? I’ll share the best (anonymised) answers.
